Fishing

Mahopac Lake is one of the few Putnam County waterbodies that is accessible to the public and is not part of the NYC watershed. Mahopac Lake also allows you to use a gasoline powered craft. This is a popular lake for bass fisherman; small tournaments are held here annually. Anglers also report that the lake holds some really nice sized panfish.
